03 — The Truma Sports Difference

From sketchto shipped.

Five stages, one team, no handoffs to third parties. This is where most factories lose a season — and where we do not.

Weeks 1–2

Design

Bring a sketch, a tech pack, or a competitor sample. Our in-house design team translates intent into a manufacturable spec — panel counts, padding densities, stitch schedules and colourways.

  • Tech pack
  • CAD panel set
  • Colourway board
Weeks 2–4

Pattern Making

Master patterns are cut, tested on the hand and revised. A century of accumulated pattern archive means we start from a proven curve rather than a guess.

  • Graded patterns
  • Fit sample
  • Revision loop
Weeks 3–5

Material Selection

Cowhide, buffalo, microfibre PU, Maya hide, pearl weave cotton. We source, test for abrasion and tensile strength, and document every lot for traceability.

  • Material board
  • Lab reports
  • Lot traceability
Weeks 5–9

Range Building

Good, better, best. We architect a full price-laddered range so your line sheet covers entry retail through pro-grade without cannibalising itself.

  • Line sheet
  • Cost ladder
  • Salesman samples

Delivery Support

Inline QC, third-party inspection, barcode and polybag compliance, drop-ship and 3PL consolidation. BSCI and Sedex audited, with reorder lead times from 30 days.

The Archive

Every pattern.Perfected overa century.

The first Truma Sports football was stitched by hand in 1924. The panel pattern for that ball still exists — and the curve of its last still informs the match balls leaving our floor this morning. Machines changed. The hands and the standard did not.

08 — Responsible floor

Built to last.Made to matter.

A century-old floor does not stay open by cutting corners. We treat sustainability as production discipline — fewer rejects, cleaner inputs, and audits buyers can verify.

0

Child labour — ever

01

Materials with a trail

Lot-traced leather, latex and textiles. Spec sheets and lab reports travel with every sample so buyers can defend the bill of materials.

02

Less waste on the cut

Pattern nesting and inline QC cut scrap before it becomes landfill. Rejects are repaired or recycled into training lines where the grade allows.

03

People first, always

BSCI and Sedex keep labour standards visible — fair wages, safe floors, no child labour. Floor visits welcome by appointment.

04

Environmental systems

ISO 14001:2015 frames how we manage water, finishing chemicals and energy. Continuous improvement is part of the audit cycle, not a poster.

09 — Leadership

Four generations.One standard.

Truma Sports is still family-led. The people below keep the floor honest — from pattern archive to export carton — so every private-label programme inherits a century of craft, not a middleman.

06 — In their words

What buyersactually say.

01 / 04

We moved three glove lines to Truma Sports in 2019. Four years, zero missed drops, and the sparring mitt they patterned for us is now our best-selling SKU in Europe.

Marcus Reiner

Head of Product

Ironclad, London

Their pattern team caught a padding-density problem our previous factory shipped for two seasons. They fixed it in the sample stage and never mentioned it again.

Yuki Tanaka

Founder

Ronin Fight, Osaka

The range architecture work was the real value. They built us a good-better-best ladder that opened two retail tiers we could not previously price into.

Dana Whitfield

Commercial Director

Apex Athletic, Portland

A hundred years of doing one thing shows up in the small places — the way a cuff is bound, how a lace channel is reinforced. It is not marketing. It is in the box.
